Black Moves First encourages African American Parents / Black America to use chess as a teaching aid to improve their children's' decision making skills, life skills and create higher order thinking skills.
Chess teaches basic skills that are transferred to the classroom , ie "Chess for Success "by Maurice Ashley and the board room of Corporate America ie. used in the Hampton Business College. (Hampton University ranked #3 in America's Best Colleges 2008 amongst HBCU)
Read/ listen to "Every move Must Have a Purpose "by Bruce Pandolfini to get the reinforcement of chess and the corporate world.
Read "The Art of le Learning"as a confirmation of chess and the martial arts, which both are taught as part of the business courses at Hampton University.
The Hip Hop version go to the Hip Hop Chess Federation website and feel the pulse of the streets and chess / martial arts.
www.ichoosetostay.com teaches people passion for chess and how to take children to the next level with chess.
www.thechessdrum.net is the Black World of Chess information system.
We praise God for the work of the brother in the south Orrin Hudson www.besomeone.org, who also wrote a book. One Move At A Time: How to Play & win At Chess & Life and K.A.S.H. is King Program Teaches Kids Higher Order Thinking through Chess.
THE ROAD MAPS
The books on the website are various road maps to help our children. The Critical Middle School reader is a parent’s guide on what is happening to African American children in today’s schools.
Urban Injustices explains how Ghetto Schools were and are created from a medical doctor’s perspective and how to stop the cradle to the grave prison mentality.
Jawanza Kunjufu has a curriculum that will decrease the number of African American males in special ed.
THE INSTRUMENT / MODALITY
The books on the website are the road maps to help our children. Chess is the only instrument used on a mass scale or level that will give the outcomes needed to excel in the classroom and corporate world.
BlackMovesFirst promotes Chess Art by selling Motherland Chess boards and tables.
There is a high level of Domestic Violence in the African American / Black Community. The only way to teach respect for our sisters and mothers is to respect them as Queens in our culture.
In the game of chess the Queen is the most powerful chess pieces but the game is over when the King is Checkmated. When fathers leave their children and provide no involvement for the child in the African American / Black community a checkmate is starting to take place because the balance growth of the child is out of balance........that is why the juvenile system is overflowing with young, angry black males.
The Motherland chess boards are the modality used to help fathers re-enter the lives of their children. Some of the concepts of the Motherland will soon come into play, like MAAT which leads to teaching TRUTH, JUSTICE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is also explained by Jawanza Kunjufu for young America.
